  1. 9/11 is similar and dissimilar to pearl harbor it is similar because, first off it was an attack on American soil, also they were both surprise attacks, America had no idea that theses countries were going to try to destroy our country. these attacks were dissimilar because the Japanese were angry that we no longer wanted to trade with them because they marched into Manchuria but the Iraqis bombed the twin towers because we didn't have strong relations with them to begin with and because we supported Israel.

  2. I think it may be similar in certain aspects but the intentions of each group are not similar. The 9/11 attack was done to provoke terror and strike fear into the average American (hence the name "terrorist"). The attack of Pearl Harbor was not as an intent on striking fear than it is as an attempt to cripple the U.S. Naval Defense grid. Though the intent was mostly on crippling the navy, the Japanese also wanted to lower the morale of the american people by doing this, and this is where both are similar in intents. In the same way that both are also aerial attacks and
when time called for it, both forces had people who killed themselves for the sake of their nationality.

  3. I think that 9/11 and Pearl Harbor have their similarities and differences. Both of these attacks were unexpected and were carried out on our own American soil. The attacks are dissimilar because the intentions were different; 9/11 was performed to strike fear into the hearts of Americans, as the Middle Eastern terrorists wanted us to feel unsafe in our own home, while Pearl Harbor was performed because the Japanese wanted to impair the U.S. Naval forces as they took over all European and American colonies in Southeast Asia. Ultimately, the effects that the attacks had on America as a nation were very similar; the people came together in the sorrow an felt proud to be a U.S. citizen.

  4. Sure, 9/11 and Pearl Harbor are very alike seeing they are both attacks on American lives and the fact that we retaliated with both. Even though 9/11 was to strike fear in Americans and Pearl Harbor was to nullify the U.S navy, they were both used to send a message which was well heard and they got our answer with the war, Nagasaki and Hiroshima

  5. I think that pearl harbor is similar to 9/11 in the idea that they both started wars and were a major blow to the security of the United States of America. Although, Pearl Harbor was far more disastrous to the navy and it was a planed attack by the government of Japan on a massive scale. 9/11 was disastrous in its own way though as well. Although 9/11 was an attack by just two people from a terrorist group it killed roughly the same amount of people as in Pearl Harbor. Although in Pearl Harbor civilians were killed, it was not directed mainly to them, just to the navy. But what made 9/11 so effective and disastrous in its own way was the directed attack on civilians (killing the same amount of people in Pearl Harbor roughly, except the fact that they were all civilians) in a populated city to one of the most important and renown buildings in America. I think that they were both destructive and devastating but I think that 9/11 was the biggest blow to the civilians and unified them more effectively than in Pearl Harbor

  6. i agree that it is like 9/11 because the U.S was caught off guard by both attacks. They also harmed innocent people and destroyed many things. Both attacks only united everyone in the U.S and caused more anger so that we would start a war. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were both a really sad day for us americans.

  7. I agree that 9/11 and Pearl Harbor were extremely similar, yet also had some different aspects. Both were surprise attacks, ended up creating a sense of unity among the people throughout America, and plunged the US into war. They are dissimilar in that each attack was by a different nation, and that each country had different intentions.

  8. In comparison, 9/11 and Pearl harbor were both very similar. They were both militaristic deliberate surprise attacks on the United States. They also both created a stronger nation and united millions of Americans. It also made citizens more eager to start wars. The main difference between 9/11 and the attacks at Pearl Harbor were that Pearl Harbor was an attack on a military base, and 9/11 was an attack on citizens to infuse terror.

  9. i think 9/11 and Pearl Harbor are pretty similar. They both were attacks from different countries on America that brought alot of hardship to this country for many reasons. They were both by surprise too, and they were both equally terrifying and out of nowhere. They are not similar though because they are attacks from 2 different countries one strictly for terror, the other for military reasons. The reaction from America was the same for both.

  10. The two are diffrent. 9/11 sole purpose was to cause terror. Pearl Harbor was not ment for terror but for military reasons. they decided to drop bombs on the naval base in Pearl Harbor Hawaii out of anger, (the U.S prevented their expansion across the pacific

  11. The only way I can relate Pearl Harbor to 9/11 is that it was a surprise attack on our country that really made us feel like going to war. However, on 9/11 we were not attacked by some sort of military, we were attacked by an extremist terrorist group enforcing radical muslim beliefs and wishing harm upon American civillians and military. Pearl Harbor was a legitimate military advance on our country that had a preconceived strategic result, whereas 9/11 was strategized to put fear in the hearts of all americans and cripple our resolve.

  12. I think that it is okay to relate 9/11 and Pearl Harbor because they were both unknown attacks on the U.S. The way that they are not similar is that 9/11 was by a small group of terrorists and Pearl Harbor was a commited by a countries army. The people that were part of the group that helped in the 9/11 attack are a very small portion of the country they came from.

  14. i agree that it was similiar to 9/11 because in some what it was a terrorizome attack on the U.S to strike fear and it was a surprise. it also sparked up the war to an even higher level just like it did for us in iraq.
