  1. I dont think there is a reason to do that, one natural right of a human being is the right to speak. I think that regardless of what others may think of anything everyone has the natural right to speak their own opinions. If there ever was a reason to take that right away it would be if the lives of many depended on one's opinion, and even in desperate times people still have to share what they think.

  2. No, I dont think that there is any good reason to take away peoples right to say what they feel. The government should not be allowed to force people to just agree with anything and everything the that they say. Freedom of press is also important because newspapers should be allowed to say all the facts not just the ones the government allows.

  3. Under the circumstances that someone is spreading unjust or false information, it would definitely be reasonable and easier to take away their right to free speech and press, in order to eliminate the threat. However, both of those freedoms are rights that people are born with, and although it is easier to merely silence people, it is still an unethical approach when considering that all people are born with natural rights that morally, should never be taken away.

  4. I believe that freedom of speech and freedom of the press is what separates the US from the rest of the world, and what makes us superior. Free speech and freedom of the press provides the right to believe what you want to believe. If the government was able to control our freedoms, it would turn into a hitlers Germany; Propaganda flooding the radios, and people would be forced to join the armed forces.

  5. No, there is not a good reason to take away Freedom of Speech. It is only good in the eyes of governments that don't want people speaking out against them and/ or convincing people not to buy into the program that they are presenting to the public. The U.S. has kept this as one the natural rights, and that's why we are such a united nation. We've never had any "coup d'etat" occur, this is the root of freedom

  6. No, there is no good reason to take away freedom of speech or the press. This is because speech has no power to change any thing and there for should not be assessed by anyone of weather or not what you say should be spoken. This goes hand in hand with freedom of the press as well. Speech and freedom of the press is are natural rights. This means they should be available to any one. Wit out freedom of speech and freedom of the press we would be a communist nation and tha is what makes America special.

  7. Freedom of speech is a fortress with weak walls. I beleive even though it is set in stone, no one really has freedom of speech because, sure you can say whatever you want but it doesnt stop other people from judging and the goverment from
    violating your conversations.
Freedom of the press on the other hand should never be taken away because of the sheer fact that we need the press to update latest news on world wide problems, epidemics, ect...

  8. No, their is no good reason to take away freedom of speech or freedom of the press. the main reason is because without these freedoms the government becomes more controlling over society. plus we will never really have freedom of speech because if we do say anything we want we will always be judged and sometimes even punished for your opinion.

  9. I think there is no good reason to take away freedom of speech. The first amendment says that each person has their rights to freedom of speech. By taking that away, it takes away our free will and rights. When Moussilini took away the freedom of the press, he took away the rights of the people and their newspapers.

  10. I think there could be reason to take away ones right to freedom of speech or press, but it's extremely circumstancial. The Declaration of Independence states that certain unalienable rights are endowed upon the people at their birth, which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Liberty, which is a natural right depicted by John Locke that all people should be born with, is freedom, which allows not only physical freedom, but the freedom to think what one choses to or choses not to.

  11. I believe that there is no reason to take away ones right. Freedom of speech and press are our natural rights according to John Locke. We may even lose our individuality without those rights since we would be forced to agree with someone else.

  12. No, there is no reason to take away our rights. Everyone should be able to say what they want to, it is something we were born with. Everyone should have freedom of press too, you should be able to say what u want, your words and no one elses.

  13. NO!! I personally don't believe that taking our freedom and freedom of speech would be any good. The citizens of the United states and myself would go CRAZY!. I would destroy everything if they did that and the United states citizens and would do the same. (I also agree with Greg. Hitler would be bad)

  14. No, Freedom of speech and press are rights that we deserve and should always have. Without it we people would not be able to express feelings about anything or be able to say their real opinions. Today communist China does not have Freedom of speech and many are arrested for saying anything bad about the Government.

  15. no, i think that freedom of speech is one of the most important rights that we have. It gives the people a chance to express what they really feel and want. And the freedom of the press as well. Without the freedom of the press we would not be able to get the news in any way. And like a day like today we would not be able to know who won the superbowl. And with freedom of speech we would not be able to say who we want as president or say what we do not like about our country.

  16. no i dont think there is a good reason, because we live in the united states where freedom is a must and people should have the right to speak their mind and what they feel is right. Freedom of speech shows a person can have an opinion, or else how would anyone know what someone thinks about something? And freedom of press is good for news and updates on the world that gives us knowledge that should not be taken away.

  17. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are two things we all have and should never be taken away. Unless of course someone is spreading negative things, such as like Hitler did. If so they shouldn't have the right to say things.

  18. I don't believe it's ever a good idea to challenge ones freedom of speech, unless someone is making recurring threats to a civillian or government official, because if you do it once, you're opening the door way to more of that. Also the press should be allowed to cover a lot of stuff as long as its not infringing on ones personal privacy, because media coverage is a great way to keep our people informed about whats happening in their society and especially in their government.

  19. no i dont believe its ever a good idea to take it away. i believe that if someone is saying something that is false that you go correct them with the facts so that tragadies dont happen like the holocost or other genosides because a group blames another group just cause they need something to point their fingers at
