  2. Yes and no, because it does cause a lot of casualties and is performed as a result to stupid problems that couldn't be solved in a civil manner. It's also good sometimes because it has molded some of the greatest places on Earth to what they are today. For example, the U.S. could never have been what it is today without war. Though it's a great idea that it shouldn't happen, but the reality is that it will, but we as humans can work hard to avoid such drastic measures that have and will be taken to resolve the problems we've had in history

  3. I think there never really is a good reason to go to war. Unless a country invades another, I believe that words and civil discussion and comprimise can solve the deepest of problems without violent. Gahndi, for example, could have sprung a violent uprising in India during the 1930s and 1940s, but instead he went about attaning Indian independence in a relatively rationa way, and they got what they wanted. On the other hand, if a country attacks another like Japan attacked the U.S. in Pearl Harbor, there really is no other alternative to war if you want to retain a country's land and security.

  4. The only real reason to go to war is to defend one's country. I think whoever started the war could have thought of a better alternative, but war is something that is hard to exclude. Territory is won and lost over war, shaping countries and states. Without war, the layout of countries could be totally different. If war can be avoided though, then it should be avoided at all costs. It spends a lot of money, and lives are lost.

  5. I do not think there is any reason for war or even violence. The exception for war is self defense but even then, the country that is attacking has no viable reason for war, maybe to get resources or maybe to just eliminate a certain minority, but there is never reason to attack. Violence is only part of human psychology. one part of the psychic apparatus i called id; which invokes a need to do something you feel in yourself is right, and there is another part of the brain called the superego; based solely on what people told you or what you learned is correct. In between these two is the ego, a mix between what you learned and what you feel is right and sometimes the id part of the psychic apparatus
takes over which in the this case, invoking greed or power which can lead to violence. If countries wanted land regardless of war and peace a compromise is reached sometime eventually, and war is only the result of a bad argument. If people wanted resources other countries may lend resources and be paid back with something else in return, if there as war over resources the result would be this: some very unhappy countries because they lost more resources fighting than earning resources as the result of some treaty. In conclusion there is always a way out of war because violence is merely an aspect of human nature and despite how much peace can be achieved; the sad truth is, world peace can never be obtained.

  6. I think the only real reason to go to war is to either make another country do what you want by using fear, or to defend yourself. Really, all issues that countries have with each other could be talked out and compromised, yet usually the countries don't agree with each other. Because different countries have such separate goals and desires, trying to compromise would not get anywhere. Instead, countries threaten and attack other each other to get the result they want. Though it is an incredibly destructive approach, wars are the only reason that territories are arranged the way they are today. For example, if not for wars, the US would still be under British control, and several other countries would not have the independence they possess today.

  7. I believe the only real excuse to go to war is to defend ones country. for example, when Japan attacked pearl harbor. War is sometimes needed in order to maintain stability ironically. I believe that war should be the last resort though as apposed to ones first impulse. I wouldn't say always, but there definately usually is a way to dispute problems in a civil polite way without drawing blood. Ghandi in the turn of the 20th century is to this day the most civil person who ever lived; he started a movement emphasizing the peaceful protest method, and it worked.

  8. I believe the only reason to go to war is if you are defending your country against a foreign invader. You can see examples of this from the September 11th terrorist attacks, and how immediately after these attacks the United States of America sent troops to the middle east.

  9. yes and no people should only go to war if their defending themselves against enemy invaders like when japan attacked pearl harbor. but i dont like that countries need to attack for resources, like raw materials, or land i think its dumb that countries think they can take what they need just because for example the U.S. with manifest destiny they took almost all land from the native americans.

  10. I dont believe there is a good reason to go to war because sometimes war causes more problems than solutions, many people suffer because of the lost of a loved one, and there is a better way to get things rather than taking it by force. For example, when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor that didnt help anyone it just caused more anger and problems for the U.S and Japan.

  11. There is always going to be a reason to go to war. Even though it is the worst possible thing in existance in my opinion. Sometimes you have no choice and it is for the good of your country if your a leader. I would never go for a greedy cause because that can get ugly for the leader.

  12. I think there is a reason to go to war. The reasons are we need to fight when our nation security becomes threatened. Recent examples of course would be when we were attacked on September 11th, 2001. We declared war against enemies who threatened our security for reasons that are unclear, they're are certain elements of the Islamic Religion that want to destroy ideals of the Western civilization. Our decision to go to war was and still is based on a continuing threat by that element from the Islamic Religion.

  13. If you ask most people if going to war is the right thing to do they will tell you that war is horrible and it destroys peoples lives and they are 100% right. I think that the only time you should go to war is to stand up for something you believe in or something that is not fair. When the Germans started killing the Jews some small groups of Jews made groups and started killing Nazis. Even though this is going to war its standing up for something that you believe in.

  14. i dont think there is entireley a good reason to go to war. i think it causes a lot of pain and nonsense. yes there might be a reason like defending whats right or for your country's sake or whatever it may be, but its wasting time in a violent way. issues like that should be settled differently. everyone should be civil towards one another so things like that dont start.

  15. Yes and No.
Yes,because the only reason to go to war in my point of view is to protect citizens in one's country, to defend themselves against anyone who makes a threat that can harm many people.
No,because countries could talk things out among themselves instead of sending young people to go to war and get themselves killed but in somewhat if a country attacks us like in Pearl Harbor then we should go to war to defend ourselves

  16. I think the only reason to go to war is to protect your country. War does nothing but waste money, food, guns, and mainly people. The only reason i feel it would be ok to have war is to protect your country and that is it.

  17. I think war is only necessary when another country needs to understand the seriousness of any given situation. War should not be used as an ultimate punishment. War is mostly used as a punishment from one country to another, but if war were used as a threat, the loss of life would be much less severe. For example, if a country was upset over something that another country did, and country # 2 does not understand what they did wrong, country #1 can go in an invade. However, if a country ultimately does not change what they were supposed to change, country #1 should not go in and punish said country, because that will result in a further loss of life.

  18. i dont think there is ever a good reason to go to war. i think that everthing could be talked over and agreed with without having to have people die because you are too stuborn to try and compromise

  19. i think tht their are sometimes very good reasons to go to war with a country. like say the cuban missile crisis, if they were threatening to use them against a certain country, and we were that countries allies then we would need to back that country up and send military forces in to cuba and try and stop them from firing the missile. and if they do go to war with them
